March 2014 - Post #1 Who we are and what we do!

The MDG Committee of the Diocese of Southwestern Virginia has the mission to inform and promote the Millennium Development Goals in the Diocese.  The committee is funded by 0.7% of the diocese budget.  The money is distributed by the committee to promote the MDGs.  The primary way is through matching money grants to parishes of the diocese.  The Committee consists of a chairperson appointed by the bishop and volunteer members   We meet about 4 times a year to review grant requests and oversee meeting the committees mission.

The Committee has $9327.00 to distribute in 2014.  We provide matching fund grants to any parish of the diocese.  Applications can be found here:  MDG Grant Application
